The guys talk user created content on this episode, from Nintendo's recently posted Super Smash Bros. character poll to mods and the YouTube community. What are the obstacles to getting quality content from gamers? Where's the line between inspiration and being derivative? What is behind the popularity of Twitch, and what is the draw for broadcasters? Plus, Jay admits to there being a lousy "Star Wars" scene, and Rob and Glenn actually agree on the subject of Nintendo DLC.

ISeeRobots: The Toys R Us Report Episode 29: Star Bird By Milton Bradley

(IseeRobots) Here it is guys! The moment where your week gets a lot less weak. The all new/all fun episode of The Toys R Us Report. This week we take a on a cool toy from the 70's called Star Bird by Milton Bradley Electronics. It was requested by pal of the show Willie from The Colecovisions Podcast. He's a big fan of these early type electronics toys from MB. I didn't know a lot about Star Bird going in so Willie chips in with a bit of info for us. The first ever "guest" appearance on The Toys R Us Report. It's a lot of fun. You will not be disappointed. I talk a little about a pal of mine I've lost touch with that was an early adopter of the collector mentality. Besides that we talk about THE GREATEST MOVIE OF ALL THE TIMES! Furious 7. It was awesome and I tell you all about it. I follow some hot tips that take me to a store I didn't even knew carried toys in search of my Sabine Wren Action Figure. Did I find it yet? Tune-in to find out! There is more blimp talk as well as some neat this and that's thrown in as well. It's a great show like always. Make sure to tell a friend!

ISeeRobots: The Toys R Us Report Episode 27: Video Store Days

(IseeRobots) Here it is guys! The latest All New/All Fun episode of The Toys R Us Report this week we are taking a little different tact on the old Toys R Us Report. We are gonna spend a little time talking about Video Stores. The recent closure of Bae's Rincon Video got me to thinking about my history in the video business as well as some general musings on VHS Tapes. I had a ton of fun making this episode and I think that you are really gonna dig it. We talk about the store that I worked at. There are some cool stories of my days there as well as some talk of the adult video market and THE VAULT! Don't worry, it's pretty safe as far as content goes. No cussin' or anything. Mostly business talk. Prices, rental rates, the high markups etc... While I was working there they filmed a scene from the movie Scream. Ya, the famous video store scene from Scream was filmed at Bradley Video while I was working there. Cool huh? I talk about that as well as the stand my town took against the terror of HORROR MOVIES!!! There is also a VHS review in the mix. I watched a tape called Cage with Lou Ferrigno. It was terrible and I'll tell you all about it. It's a great show like always, make sure to tell a friend!!

Hyperion

Just in time for Easter, the Dudes are here to talk about an Easter Egg. Except this time the Easter Egg is a game itself. The Dudes are talking this week about never released and unfinished game Hyperion.

Developed by Yoshio Sakamoto, Hyperion was a very unique game that could have had an impact on future games released on the NES. However, the game was never released and actually gave rise to two famous NES games.

Intrigued about this game that never came to fruition? Well give the episode a listen and see what you think about this game that never came to be.

ISeeRobots: The Toys R Us Report Episode 26: Chewbacca From Kenner

It's never to late to get your Toys R Us Report on! This week we have a great show ahead of us. It's special for a few reasons. For the first time EVER! we tackle a topic involving Star Wars AND this is our longest episode to date! Awesome right? Outside of Chewbacca we talk about the sad closure of a local video store, A GREAT movie that I saw and when it finally gets down to The Real Toy Talk we go on so long about Chewbacca that I had to add an extra 10 minutes to the show to fit it it all in. We talk about Wookies and their homeworld and what sort of physical gifts a Wookie is born with. It's fascinating stuff! We talk about Chewie and the movies and why he has always been a special character to me. There is a bunch of great stuff this week including a bunch of new musical breaks. Real great stuff. Honestly this might be my favorite show to date..

Atari 2600 Game by Game Podcast #79 - Fire Fighter & Sky Patrol by Imagic

I apologize for the delay, I ran out of space on Libsyn. I will make sure it doesn't happen again.

Hello once again, today I talk about the Imagic games Fire Fighter and Sky Patrol (which went unreleased in the 80s). Also, Strudders is giving away copies of Alien and Mega Force in a contest on my show! You can check out the details at the link below. Next week I'll be looking at Basic Math (Fun With Numbers) and Math Gran Prix, both by Atari. The next episode will be on the aforementioned Alien and Mega Force by 20th Century Fox. Listen to the show for more details as to why there are not more games mentioned here. Your favorites are coming, don't worry. Thank you so much to everyone for all of your support for my Extra Life marathon, I made $500 for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center and almost made it the entire 24 hours. Thank you for listening!

Atari 2600 Game by Game Podcast #74 - SoundX and Edtris 2600 by Ed Federmeyer

This time I talk about the first two homebrew games made for the Atari 2600, SoundX and Edtris 2600, both written by Ed Federmeyer. There are arguments that some other games are the first, but these were first after the 2600 ceased to be. SoundX is a sound utility program, and Edtris 2600 is a version of Tetris. Next week I'm looking at In Search of the Golden Skull, AD&D Treasure of Tarmin, and Burgertime by M Network. Only one of these games was actually released! Coming up I'll be yakking about Frogger and Amidar by Parker Brothers; Swordquest: Fireworld by Atari; Sssnake and Airlock by Data Age; Fire Fighter and Sky Patrol by Imagic; Math Grand Prix and Raiders of the Lost Ark by Atari, and Mega Force and Alien by 20th Century Fox. If you have any feedback for any of these games or any of the games I've covered so far, please send it to 2600gamebygame@comcast.net. Thanks for listening everyone!

Atari 2600 Game by Game Podcast #73 - Swordquest: Earthworld by Atari

This week I am looking at Swordquest: Earthworld and the ill fated contest that this game started off for Atari (SPOILERS). Very interesting stuff, please make sure you check out the links for great photos and even more info. Next week I am discussing Edtris 2600 and Sound X, both homebrews by Ed Federmeyer. From what I have read, Edtris 2600 is considered the first Atari 2600 homebrew cart. Upcoming games include In Search of the Golden Skull, AD&D Treasure of Tarmin & Burgertime by M Network; Frogger and Amidar by Parker Brothers; Swordquest: Fireworld by Atari; Sssnake and Airlock by Data Age; and Fire Fighter and Sky Patrol by Imagic. Got any feedback for these games, or any of the other games I've covered so far? Send it to me in text or mp3 form at 2600gamebygame@comcast.net.

Don't forget, Rob from Player/Missile Podcast is very generously sponsoring a contest! He is giving away an e-book copy of Racing the Beam, by Nick Montfort and Ian Bogost (it is an Amazon gift e-book, you need to be in the US and have an Amazon account, sorry about that). The next episode of his podcast is devoted to Space Invaders; both of us will be playing the game on the other's system, and you have to guess our combined scores (without going over) to win the book. You have until October 6th, and you can send your guesses to my email address above or post it to the pinned post on the Facebook page.

Thank you for listening everyone!

Atari 2600 Game by Game Podcast #72 - Death Trap and London Blitz by Avalon Hill

Hi there. Thank you for your patience for this show, I had some issues that I talk about in the episode.

Today's episode talks a little about Avalon Hill and the first of their games on my show, Death Trap and London Blitz. Coming up next week is Swordquest: Earthworld by Atari. There's a lot of info on that game and the accompanying contest, so I thought each of those should get its own episode (except Airworld, which never came out). Coming up will be Edtris 2600 and SoundX by Ed Federmeyer; In Search of the Golden Skull, AD&D Treasure of Tarmin & Burgertime by M Network; Frogger and Amidar by Parker Brothers; Swordquest: Fireworld by Atari; Sssnake and Airlock by Data Age; and Fire Fighter and Sky Patrol by Imagic. If you have any feedback on any of these games or any of the games I've already covered, please send it to me at 2600gamebygame@comcast.net. I love hearing from you!

In the meantime, Rob from Player/Missile Podcast is very generously sponsoring a contest! I will give a cutoff date soon, but it will be sometime in early October. That will be fun!

Extra thanks this week to Avalon Hill CEO Jackson Dott, and Avalon Hill artist Jim Talbot for contributing to my show. Thank you for listening!

The gloves come off on this episode of Gamercast! Rob shares his feelings on "The Last of Us: Remastered" and poses the question: does better tech make for a better game? Plus, the guys discuss games they haven't finished while fielding listener questions, Glenn drops a "Fallout 3" rant, and Jay pimps his video game ride.
