Awards: Recognition, Shows, Relevance

As E3 arrives, Glenn asks Jay and Rob about video game awards and their feelings on them. Does a Game of the Year award really mean anything with so many media outlets doling them out? What are the high and low points of gaming awards shows? Is there a gaming equivalent to the Oscar or a Grammy, and does there need to be? Plus, Rob gets the guys to do a little voiceover work to promote "Nintendo Quest".

Adventures of Dino Riki

This week the Dudes sit down to talk ANOTHER PATREON PICK! Did we mention that you all are awesome, yeah you, you are awesome. This week's game is a pick by Dude Joe who chose Adventures of Dino Riki.
A lesser known title to grace the NES, Adventures of Dino Riki, is a difficult but fun addition to any D-padder's collection. It is a game that plays a lot like other Hudson Soft makes like 1942 but features a caveman instead of a plane.
While this game is sure to cause some frustration (OK, maybe a lot) it is worth the pick up and the Dudes spend an enjoyable time discussing it.

Retrofitted Trophies
Dino A Go-Go: Get the turbo boots
Tyrannosaurus Wrecks: Defeat the t-rex
Dino-snore: Lose on the first level
Oh look a time travel machine: Beat stage one
Check my new invention: Kill all on screen enemies with fire
Wrong game dude: Kill snifit looking bad guy

Game Rating
Both Dudes give the same rating:
Dino from the Flintstones

The episode 100 contest has been extended until episode 102, so please get your entries in to win the Atari 2600 with a bunch of games to me by June 16th. Today's episode is all about Shootin' Gallery and Riddle of the Sphinx, both by Imagic. Next time I will be covering Phoenix and Vanguard by Atari. In the coming weeks I will be looking at Oystron, INV and INV+, and Mondo Pong, all of which are homebrews by Piero Cavina; Chuck Norris Superkicks and Artillery Duel by Xonox; Rocky and Bullwinkle (unreleased), Kool-Aid Man, and Super Challenge Football by M Network; and Swordquest Waterworld and Swordquest Airworld (vaporware) by Atari. If you have any feedback for any of these games or any I've already covered (see the link for Jose's amazing spreadsheet for my show), send it to 2600gamebygame@comcast.net. Thank you for listening!

Frustratingly difficult? Maybe. Fun? Depends on who you ask. Classic? For sure. Hold onto your underwear!
Ghosts 'N Goblins has a storied history in the video game industry. Starting in the arcade and then later ported to the NES, this game is difficult yet fun. Want to know what the Dudes thought of it? Listen in.
The Dudes are really liking all of the Patreon Picks. This is another one. This one is from Mike Vito. Thanks to Mike for yet another Capcom game. We've really got a streak going.

What are the guys' favourite shopping experiences when it comes to picking up new and classic games?
